Rex Grossman Says Redskins will Win NFC East... Isn't even the Projected Starter

This past week Washington Redskins QB Rex Grossman (projected #2 on the depth chart) predicted the Redskins would win the NFC East. While we feel the pain of the Redskins fans, who have an owner who is willing to spend money but never buys the right parts (Haynesworth, McNabb, DeAngelo Hall, among a few names) we have to laugh at the irony of Rex Grossman making any prediction. After all, this is a Quarterback who played at Florida and was carried by all the athletes there. Who was carried by the defense of the Chicago Bears when he played there. And who is now a backup and making predictions about winning a division.
Looking at Grossman's stats, the best year he had in the league in which he played in more than 4 games was in 2006 when the Bears went to the Superbowl. Let's see how Rex performed in his best pro year (and how well he contributed to that Superbowl run):
Regular Season:
16 games played
54.6% Completion percentage
23 touchdowns
20 interceptions
6.65 average yards per completion
73.9 passer rating
This was his BEST year ever.
And we all known in the Superbowl he fumbled twice (1 lost) and threw 2 interceptions.
To put Grossman's passer rating (of his best year) into perspective, from 1998 to 2010 Peyton Manning only had a lower passer rating once that fell below Grossman's best year of 73.9 and that was in Manning rookie year in 1998 when he had a 71.2 rating. Manning's lowest rating since then was a 84.1 and a high of 121.1.
Maybe Grossman should spend more time practicing and trying to get to be #1 on the QB depth chart and less time making predictions. Just a thought Rex...

That's pretty bold
considering the Eagles have said they're the dream team & they'll win it all.
